It was the year of 1920. It was Howard’s senior year at Knippa. He had been playing football since he was little. It was the last game of the season. Knippa was down. All they needed to do was make the next touchdown and they would win. Both teams were ready and then they heard the whistle. Howard had been tackled and everybody was on top. He had broken his neck and had died right then and there. On Halloween the football field was covered with flowers, and at 11:59 they were dead. Howard was laying in the middle of the field with a note on him that said “I’m back!” Every Halloween you can hear Howard’s voice in the girls lockeroom.
