Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. The Uvalde Coyotes enjoyed a very successful night in the Honey Bowl on Friday as they defeated the San Antonio Harlandale Indians in a 34-21 district football thriller. With the win, the Coyotes kept themselves in first place in the District 29-4A standings and they clinched a post-season playoff berth. The Uvaldeans avenged a lopsided loss that they suffered against Harlandale in 2012 and they gave the Uvalde High School seniors on the team a memorable victory in their final home game.
