Joni “Janeen” Nave Pruitt Asherman, 76, of Cocoa, Fla., died on Nov. 28, 2013, at her residence, following a debilitating illness. She was born on July 22, 1937, in Uvalde to Margaret Nave and Sam F. Nave. Asherman graduated from Uvalde High School in 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Sam Paul Nave. She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” Sim Pruitt III of Marathon, Fla., and David Thomas Pruitt of Devine; two daughters, Cheryl Dawn Pruitt and Sharon Kay Pruitt, both of Florida; one brother, Gordon “Ray” Nave of Garden Grove, Calif.; father of her children, William Sim Pruitt II of San Antonio; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and classmate/friend, Allene Thompson Hopper of Uvalde. Cremated remains will be placed beside her parents in the Hwy. 90 Old Cemetery in Uvalde. The family requests memorials be made to The Michael J.
