Victims’ tribute set in Hondo
Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. The holiday season is a cheerful time intended for celebration, but it can be an especially difficult time of the year for victims of violent crime and their families. That is why 38th Judicial District Crime Victim Advocate Dalia Arteaga has made it her mission to offer support for victims of violent crime and victims’ families by holding the first Tree of Angels ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
