Arthur “Earl” McKinley Jr., 59, of Dayton, Ohio, died on Nov. 29, 2013, in Atlanta, Ga. He was born on Dec. 5, 1953, in Pearsall to Frances McKinley and Arthur Earl McKinley Sr. McKinley graduated from Uvalde High School in 1972, and attended Southwest Texas Junior College. He was a pilot of both private and commercial aircraft. McKinley was a captain for Com-Air Airlines from 1987-1992. He served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Anti-submarine Warfare Operator from 1973-1977. He was a freemason and attended First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by the mother of his children, Sherry Lynn Armstrong of Celina; one son, Arthur “Trey” Earl McKinley III of Austin; one daughter, Elizabeth Aaron McKinley of Celina; father, resident of Ponder; one brother, Malcom McKinley of Lufkin; one sister, Theresa Zumwalt of Ponder; and one grandchild, Addison Bliss McKinley of Celina. Graveside services were held yesterday at 2 p.m. at The Buckhorn Cemetery near Pearsall. A masonic rite and remembrances service followed.
