Faustino ‘Tino’ Rodriguez
Faustino “Tino” Rodriguez, 88, of Uvalde died on Dec. 3, 2013, at his residence surrounded by family. He was born on Feb. 17, 1925, in Sabinal to Beatriz Valdez Rodriguez and Tomas Rodriguez. Rodriguez worked as a tree trimmer for Bloom Systems from which he was retired. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Josephine Lavelle Rodriguez of Uvalde; five daughters, Guadalupe Rodriguez and husband, Ray Purifoy, and Laverne Garcia and husband, Ed, all of Seguin, Beatriz Doran and husband, Michael, of Bellingham, Wash., Rosie Rivera and husband, Isidoro, of St. Louis, Mo. and Annette Montemayor and husband, Mario, of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Chapo Rodriguez and Beto Rodriguez, both of Sabinal, and Ramiro Rodriguez of Castroville; and four sisters, Maria Lopez, Minnie Torres, Gloria Musquiz and Marianna Orona, all of Sabinal. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Enrique Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez and Tomas Rodriguez Jr.; one sister, Locha Rodriguez; one son, Richard Rodriguez; and one great-grandson, Daegan Garcia. A dedicated Mass was held yesterday at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal with the Rev. Antonio Hernandez officiating. The family planned the arrangements in lieu of a funeral home.
