Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Virginia Ballard, 95, of Uvalde died on Dec. 25, 2013, at Amistad Nursing Home. She was born on Feb. 12, 1918, in Ft. Worth to Mamie Anderson Morgan and William Turner Morgan. She married John C. Ballard in Corpus Christi on Jan. 10, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1982. She is survived by two nieces, Barbara Hensarling and husband, James, of Uvalde and Marilyn Morgan of Corpus Christi; and three nephews, Bob Hunter and wife, Allene, of La Pryor and Bill Morgan and Gary Morgan, both of San Diego.
