Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. Rosa E. Perez, 69, of Uvalde died on Dec. 29, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She was born on Jan. 8, 1944, in Uvalde to Francisca Castro Espinoza and Zoilo Espinoza. She is survived by five daughters, Dora Rosales, Mary Helen Martinez, Irene Melendez and husband, Arthur, and Rachel Granger, all of San Antonio and Annette Marie Silguero and husband, Ray, of Uvalde; one sister, Odelia Nevarez of Camp Wood; two brothers, Zoilo Espinoza Jr. of Uvalde and Enrique Espinoza of Belton; nine grandchildren, Rick Rosales, Reynaldo R. Silguero, Rosezann Marie Silguero, Kenneth Allen Granger III, Alyssa Rae Granger, Arthur Andrew Melendez, Ilene Melendez, Rebekah Gloria Melendez and Donna Marie Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Seleste Mae Rosales, Natalia Rene Rosales, Kayala Marie Silguero Ojeda, Jesse Silguero Ojeda, Cheyanne Kiara Granger, Chelsea Penelope Granger, Simon Melendez and Adam Melendez; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Perez; and parents. A vigil and rosary was held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. A funeral Mass was held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Pallbearers were Kenneth Granger, Arthur Andrew Melendez, Joe Morales, John Espinoza, Rick Rosales and Juan Ruiz.
