Arcenia T. Lopez, 88, of La Pryor died on Jan. 12, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Dec. 14, 1925, in El Tanque Paras Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Locarita Trevino and Bonifacio Trevino. She married Manuel J. Lopez in El Tanque Paras Nuevo Leon, Mexico in 1945. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Bermea and husband, Armando, of San Diego, Calif. and Martha Gonzales and husband, Juan, of La Pryor; two sons, Jose Gerardo Lopez and wife, Lupe Delgado-Lopez, of Bedford and Eduardo Lopez and wife, Sylvia, of San Antonio; nine grandchildren, Caesar Bermea, Marisol Bermea, Elisa Melendrez, Cris Gonzales, Gabby Gonzales, Monica Lopez, Rene Lopez, Luisa Hernandez, and Linda Lopez; 11 great-grandchildren, Esteban Bermea, Bethany Melendrez, Aliya Gonzales, Diego Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales, Patrick Gonzales, Alejandra Gonzales, Santana Raye, Analeesa Hernandez, Mia Hernandez and Carina Gonzales; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kaleb Perez and Autumn Melendrez. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Juanita Cabrera and Francisca Cantu; and five brothers, Lionel, Pedro, Bonifacio, Joel and Dario Trevino. A funeral Mass was held yesterday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment followed at San Benito Juarez Cemetery in Crystal City.
