Bertha Blanche Jackson, 94, of Uvalde died on Jan. 13, 2014, at her residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday at noon at the Uvalde Church of the Nazarene. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. She was born June 15, 1919, in San Francisco, Calif. to Mary Blanche Owen and William Edward Griffith. She later moved to Uvalde. She met her husband, Arthur Jackson, in Wichita Falls. According to the family, Jackson loved her Lord, and served him vigorously. She attended Uvalde Church of the Nazarene, where she rarely missed a service. She loved her family and prayed for them by name every day. Besides her family, her passion was missions. She loved everyone, whether they lived in Uvalde, Zimbabwe, India or anywhere else in the world. The family said Jackson need not know you to love you. When she came to church, she wore the most beautiful and contagious smile anyone has ever owned. She gave tirelessly of herself to her Lord, her family, and to her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Judy Snider; and one great-grandson, Andrew George Snider. She is survived by two sons David Jackson of California and Arthur Jackson and wife, Lisa, of Florida; son-in-law, George Snider; seven grandchildren, Sam Jackson, Chris Jackson and wife, Suzanne, Steve Jackson and wife, Gracie, Tishri Dobson and husband, Patrick, Laura Snider Wiemelt and husband, Ronald, Jeanette Hull and husband, David, and George Snider III and wife, Michele; 13 great-grandchildren, Asaiah Wiemelt, Benjamin Wiemelt, Aaron Wiemelt, Crystal Wiemelt Green, Sarah Snider Wiemelt, Jon Hull, Sydney Doykin, Jossiah Dobson, Ezekiel Dobson, Christyn Jackson, Kelly Jackson, Ryan Jackson and Nathan Jackson; three great-great-grandchildren, Jay Green, Serinity Green and Dominic Andrew Snider; and numerous nieces and nephews.
