Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Antonio Morin Talamantez, 54, of Uvalde died on Jan. 8, 2014, in San Antonio. He was born on March 15, 1959, in Uvalde to Socorro Talamantez and Secundino Talamantez. He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Guadalupe Ramos. He is survived by his mother, resident of Uvalde; wife, Maria Luisa Talamantez of Uvalde; one son, Antonio Talamantez Jr. and wife, Lizzette, of Laredo; three daughters, Elizabeth Maldonado and husband, Miguel, of Killeen, Alicia Barrera and husband, Gilbert, and Josephine Talamantez, all of Uvalde; one sister, Socorro Talamantez Davis of San Antonio; two brothers, Juan Talamantez of Uvalde and Dario Talamantez and wife, Cathy, of Seguin.
