Despite program, young readers not excelling

District staff and trustees for Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District are not satisfied with the percentage of students labeled at-risk for performance when it comes to reading and reading comprehension. Jeanette Ball, superintendent, gave a presentation to trustees about the current state of the Accelerated Reader Program. All students in grades kindergarten through eighth are required to participate in accelerated reader.
