Larry Numan Bingham, 75, of San Antonio, formerly of Uvalde, died on May 30, 2015, in San Antonio. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Aldine Cemetery in Reagan Wells. He was born on Jan. 20, 1940, in Uvalde to Althea Ola Bingham and David Gaston Bingham. According to the family, Bingham was a part-time cowboy, full-time storyteller and friend to many. He is survived by his first wife, Susan Bingham (1973- 1986); second wife, Linda Bingham (1994-present); six daughters, Jennifer Bingham, Teresa Seelye, Becky Bingham, Christine Jackson, Jessica Silva and Megan Bingham; six grandchildren, Tori, Casey, Allison, Ethan, Kendal and Brantley; five brothers, Roy Bingham, Mike Bingham, David Bingham, Weldon Bingham and Harold Bingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Colleen Frizzell. Pallbearers will be Justin Bingham, Shane Bingham, Danny Bingham, Jimmy Wollney, Mikie Jackson and David Frizzell.
Mary Elizabeth Tucker Coggins went to be with our Lord and precious loved ones that had gone on before her on May 30, 2015, of natural causes in Georgetown, Texas, at the age of 85. She was born on Dec. 14, 1929, in Crosby, Texas to Mary Ann and Arlie Ruben Tucker. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; and her older brother, Warren, who died in WWII. She graduated from high school in 1948 in Raymondville, Texas, attended Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas, received her teaching degree at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, and went on to receive her master’s degree as a special education teacher at Incarnate Word College and Sul Ross University.
Joaquin “Juaka” F. Garcia, 69, of Uvalde died on May 29, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. Visitation will be held tomorrow from noon to 9 p.m. at Uvalde Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde. He was born on March 18, 1946, in Uvalde to Francisca F. Garcia and Guadalupe Garcia. He is survived by two daughters, Beronica Garcia- Gonzales and husband, Joe, and Rosa Garcia, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Tony Gonzales, Brianna Gonzales and Joaquin Gonzales, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four brothers, Ruben F. Garcia of Minnesota, Guadalupe “Pilo” F. Garcia and wife, Nelly, and Enrique “Nene” F. Garcia and wife, Conception, all of Uvalde and Valentine “Wewa” F. Garcia of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Juanita “Purro” G. Luna of Uvalde and Martina “Narre” G. Moreno of Austin; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Laurette Rich Nix, 102, of Uvalde died on June 1, 2015, at Amistad Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hico Cemetery in Hico, Texas. She was born on June 20, 1912, on a farm in Erath County near Hico to Louella Blair Rich and John Edward Rich. Nix attended a country school until she finished the ninth grade, and she graduated from Carlton High School in 1931. She was baptized Nov. 7, 1931, and has been a very active member of the Church of Christ everywhere she has lived. She married Teddy Nix on Aug. 27, 1932. They had two daughters, Lellah and Nancy. They were married for 59 years. Early in their marriage, Nix and her husband lived in College Station, where he was a student and in north Texas, where he taught after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural education. In 1941, her husband was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service and they lived several years in Alvord.
Rodolfo Munoz Tristan III, 35, of Sabinal died on June 1, 2015, in San Antonio. A rosary will be recited today at 7 p.m. at the Rushing- Estes-Knowles Chapel in Sabinal. A Mass of Christian burial will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sabinal. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Sabinal. Tristan was born on Feb. 14, 1980, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Viviana (Munoz) Tristan and Rodolfo Tristan Jr. He married Anita Gallegos on March 7, 2011, in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife, Anita Tristan of Sabinal; father, Rodolfo Tristan Jr.
Evangelina “Eva” Castillo, 65, formerly of La Pryor died on June 1, 2015, in San Antonio. A Mass of Christian burial will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow in La Pryor Cemetery. She was born on Feb. 15, 1950, in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico to Maria de Carmen (Cruz) Cerna and Demetrio Cerna. She is survived by her mother, Carmen Lopez of La Pryor; one daughter, Christina Castillo of Corpus Christi; four sons, Juan Manuel Castillo and wife, Theresa, of League City, Augustin Castillo of Dilley, Alberto Castillo and Christopher Castillo, both of La Pryor; four sisters, Ninfa Ledesma of La Pryor, Guadalupe “Lupe” Berrones of Homestead, Florida, Irma Carrasco of Austin and Rosalinda Lopez of Bastrop; five brothers, David Cerna of Salinas, California, Jesus Lopez, Roberto Lopez, Juan Pedro Lopez and Carlos Lopez, all of La Pryor; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Diana Bermea Villanueva, 63, of La Pryor died on June 2, 2015, in Houston. She was born in La Pryor on March 14, 1952, to Josefina (Garza) Bermea and Jose Bermea. Visitation will be held today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Uvalde Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Javier Bermea of Corpus Christi, Jose Bermea and Mark Bermea and wife, Stephanie, all of Houston; two daughters, Marisela Villanueva and Roxanne Villanueva, both of Houston; and five sisters, Bertha Sanchez of Eagle Pass, Rosario Mosqueda and husband, Ramon, of San Antonio, Yolanda Delgado and husband, Victor, Viola Jimenez and Leticia Perez and husband, Onesimo, all of La Pryor. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Gloria B. Enriquez.
