Paul Bernard “Uncle Bee” Coffman, 80, of Utopia died on July 5, 2016 at his residence of natural causes. He was born on Jan. 24, 1936, in Huntington, West Virginia to Eva (Mannion) and Emmett Coffman. He was the youngest of three children. He served in the U.S.
Veronica Ann Cox, 73, of Camp Wood died on July 3, 2016, at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. Funeral services are pending with Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A complete obituary will appear in a future edition of the Uvalde Leader-News.
Warren B. Woods joined his wife of 59 years, Betty H. Woods, with the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2016. Born July 1, 1921, in Loraine to Sam Woods and Lonnie Blanton Woods, he was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Bonita Adams and Geraldine Thornton, and is survived by his brother, Glenn Woods. Warren lived life to the fullest.

Norton “Nick” L. Eckenrod Sr., 85, of Brackettville died on June 23, 2016, at his residence. He was born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on Nov. 10, 1930, to Beulah (Wright) and Robert C. Eckenrod Sr. The family says Eckenrod served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was a highly decorated soldier, retiring after 26 years of service in the U.S.
Roberto S. Cruz, 78, of San Antonio, formerly of La Pryor, died on June 26, 2016, at his residence. A funeral mass will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
