Teodoro C. De Leon, 71, of Uvalde died on April 5, 2016, at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Barksdale. He was born on Sept. 26, 1944, in Camp Wood to Rafaela (Carbajal) and Guadalupe De Leon. He is survived by his partner, Andrea Sanchez of Uvalde; four daughters, Angela Velasquez and husband, Inez, of Uvalde, Denise Gonzalez and husband, Antonio, of La Pryor, Marisol De Leon, and Michelle L. De Leon, both of Uvalde; two sons, Teddy De Leon and wife, Carol, of Knippa and June Lara and wife, Elena, of Uvalde; six sisters, Amada Diaz of Uvalde, Lupe Falcon of Camp Wood, Paula Monsivais of Uvalde, and Maria Aguero and husband, Manuel, Yolanda Aguero and husband, Leondro, and Gloria Hernandez and husband, Leonard, all of Camp Wood; four brothers, Guadalupe De Leon Jr.

Rosa B. Gonzalez, 82, of Uvalde died on April 8, 2016, in Junction. She was born on March 7, 1934, in Uvalde to Felis (Flores) and Tomas Buantello She married Robert Gonzalez on Aug. 19, 1956, in Uvalde. Gonzalez is survived by her husband of 59 years; three daughters, Anna Dennis and husband, John, of Junction, Rose Mary Hargis and husband, John, of Schertz and Rebecca Ann Parish and husband, John, of Pflugerville; one brother, Julian Buantello of Uvalde; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Rosendo F. Buantello, Tomas F. Buantello Jr., Armando F. Buantello, Elpidio F. Buantello, and Jose F. Buantello. A rosary was recited on Sunday and Monday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation was under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
Darryl “Bill” Earwood, 74, of Kerrville died on April 7, 2016, at his residence. He was born on Dec. 1, 1941, in Houston to Louna (Ivy) and Darryl R. Earwood. The family says he was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and uncle to his immediate family. He was also a brother in arms, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. During his six-year enlistment the family says he met his match; a medic named Joyce Frakey. His grandparents, Eliza Jane (Beard) and Henry Jefferson Ivy of Utopia, lit the oil lamp in their one room cabin for his studies when he was only 6 years old. The family says he was known for masterful one-liners, and as a fair golfer, and he was a gentle man of great selfexpectations. His greatest pride came not from his vocations but his role as father, grandfather, and loving husband. Earwood was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville and an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Uvalde.
Juanita C. Castillo, 69, of La Pryor died on April 12, 2016, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will be at La Pryor Cemetery. She was born on March 10, 1947, in La Mesa to Guadalupe (Rodriguez) and Juan Conde. She married Mariano Castillo in Waco on July 6, 1982. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, of La Pryor; two daughters, Dalia Alvarado and husband, Richard, and Cristina Victorino and husband, Enrique, all of La Pryor; one son, Shaun Villanueva and wife, Melody, of Uvalde; two sisters, Antonia Castro and Sylvia Tenorio, both of La Pryor; four brothers, Ramiro Trevino of Crystal City, and Alfredo Ortega, Patricio Granado and Martin Trevino, all of La Pryor; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
William Ward “Billy” Sansom of Uvalde was born on Dec. 28, 1955, to Ira T. and Grace (Ward) Sansom. On March 23, 2016, Billy lost his battle with Hepatitis C and joined his daddy in heaven. He is survived by his mother Grace; brothers Ira Jr.
Nancy Lucille Garison, 86, of Zapata, formerly of La Pryor, died on April 5, 2016, at Falcon Lake Nursing Home in Zapata. She was born on March 12, 1930, in Franklin to Willie Lee (Parker) Robinson and John Raymond Robinson. She married David S. Garison Jr.
April Byars, 81, of Uvalde died on April 4, 2016, at her residence. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery. She was born on Jan. 23, 1935, in San Antonio to Evelyn Lillian (Fisher) and William Rueben Herrington. She married Glen Edward Byars in Bandera on May 23, 1990. She is survived by her husband of 25 years; two daughters, Dawn Haller Jacobi of Uvalde, and Kelly Haller Sweeten of Jacksboro; one son, Michael L. Haller of Whitewright; one step-daughter, Debra Jean Love of New Braunfels; one brother, W. Whit Herrington of Richmond; and five grandchildren. Cremation was under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
