Frances Hazel Sprott

Frances Hazel Sprott, 88, of Brackettville died on Jan. 28, 2014, at the Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Oct. 13, 1925, in Gillette, Ariz. to John Annie Kirshoff Leslie and Frank Leslie. She is survived by one son, Russell Nowell and wife, Patti, of Brackettville; one grandson, Cameron Nowell and wife, Katie, of El Paso; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jack Nowell, both of El Paso; and one niece, Gerry Whyte of Marshall, Ariz. Francisca S. Campos

Francisca S. Campos, 85, of Pearsall, formerly of Uvalde died on Jan. 17, 2014, at her residence. She was born on June 4, 1928, in Guerrero, Mexico to Francisca Castillon Sanchez and Antonio Sanchez. She married Mario Campos in Musquiz, Mexico on July 19, 1951. She is survived by two daughters, Mary C. Cardona and husband, David Jr., of Pearsall and Elia C. Keck and husband, Peter, of San Antonio; three grandsons, David Cardona III, Mario Cardona and John Keck; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Elida Garza; and one brother, Antonio Sanchez Jr. A rosary was recited on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Deborah Armitta Cannan, 61, of Utopia died on Jan. 19, 2014, at Regional Medical Center in Kerrville. The family will receive friends tomorrow from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Sabinal. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Jones Cemetery in Utopia. She was born on Feb. 13, 1952 in Uvalde to Ina Claire Elliott Cannan and Grover Cleveland Cannan Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Carrie S. Moreno and husband, Eric, of Bryan; one son, Nicholas Cannan of Bryan; one sister, Eulah Claire Caraway of Humble; one brother, James Wylie Cannan of Gonzales; two grandchildren, Michaela Moreno and Benjamin Moreno; and numerous nieces and nephews. John Lee Harris Sr.

John Lee Harris Sr. of Uvalde died on Jan. 17, 2014, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio. Graveside services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Uvalde Cemetery. He was born on Aug. 28, 1928, to Roxie Byrd Harris and Ralph Harris in Madison, Kan. He married Lilly Mae Wolff on July 2, 1949, in Uvalde. He is survived by one son, John Lee Harris Jr. of Concan; two daughters, Lana Lee Brin of Hampton, Va. and Lynda Kay Ward of Concan; five grandchildren, Heather Lewis of Austin, David J. Brin of New Orleans, La., Virginia Ward Jackson of San Antonio, Christopher Brin of Newport News, Va. and Benjamin Q. Ward IV of Concan; eight great-grandchildren, Catherine Jackson, Scottie Jackson and Hadley Jackson, all of San Antonio, Seth Lewis and Rue Lewis, both of Austin, Jonah Ward of Concan, Leyla Brin of Newport News, Va. and Kaylee Brin of New Orleans, La. Sherrie Ann Henson

Sherrie Ann Hickerson Henson, 74, of San Antonio, formerly of Uvalde, died on Dec. 11, 2013, in San Antonio. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. She was born on April 13, 1939, in Floydada to Lois Wahl Hickerson and Buck Hickerson. She married KD Henson in Plainview on Jan. 29, 1957. She is survived by one daughter, Kenda Willoughby and husband, Trae, of San Antonio; one son, Bart Henson and wife, Mary, of Uvalde; one brother, Mack Hickerson and wife, Gail, of Dallas; three grandchildren, Sam Willoughby, Noah Willoughby, both of San Antonio and Kenneth Henson of Castroville. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one son, Monty Brent Henson. The family requests memorials be made to a summer camp for people with special needs called, Camp CAMP, P.O.
