A Uvalde woman has died as a result of injuries she allegedly sustained during a violent attack by her boyfriend, who was arrested on Tuesday. Esperanza Chavez, 58, of Uvalde died Monday at University Hospital in San Antonio. Her death came just over a week after she was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend, Felipe Najera, 58, of Uvalde. Chavez was taken Jan. 25, by relatives, to Uvalde Memorial Hospital. Due to the degree of her injuries she was transported to University Hospital in San Antonio.
