‘Street artist’ elevates style for new exhibit in Del Rio

Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. The art of Uvalde High School senior Charles Ligocky was unveiled in an exhibit at the Falcon Art Gallery in Del Rio on Feb. 7. Ligocky’s work will be displayed all month in an exhibit at the gallery. The exhibit, titled “The Impractical Judgment of Emotion,” features 12 major pieces and a binder of small pieces, ranging from letter-size to nearly wall-size creations.
