Happy Birthday: ‘Aunt Sue’ celebrates 100 years of life
Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. Geneva Sue Beavers, more affectionately known as “Aunt Sue,” by her family, is celebrating her 100th birthday today. Friends and family from all over the state and from as far away as Arkansas are flying in to commemorate this special day. Beavers was born in 1914, south of Uvalde on Old Pearsall Road, which was known back then as the Leona Ditch community.
