Rosalie Coleman Hobbs, 97, died on Feb. 13, 2014, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. She was born on Oct. 17, 1916, in Barksdale to Nettie Boales Coleman and Edward Atley Coleman. Hobbs was a member of The Northside Baptist Church and was a charter member of Frances Booth Chapter of Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Y.O. Coleman, Frank Coleman and V.J. Coleman; and one sister, Verian Coleman Ayras. She is survived by three daughters, Net Huddleston Ollre and husband, A.G., of Leakey, Ruby Huddleston Brigman and husband, John, of Uvalde and Verian Huddleston Bailey of Magnolia; one son, Les Hobbs and wife, Rose, of Houston; 24 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Uvalde Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Fahrenthold officiating. Pallbearers were Guiton Ragsdale, Keith Ragsdale, Chip Ollre, Channon Ollre, Trent Ollre, Todd Ollre, George Ollre, Roger Hobbs, James Hobbs, Damien Hobbs, Trevor Newell, Payton Newell, Cody Newell, Donovan King, Walter King, W.G. Mitchell, Carl Mitchell and Mason Soward. The family requests memorials be made to Uvalde Hospice, 124 Royal Lane, Uvalde, TX 78801; or the charity of one’s choice.
