Sara Irene McBee
Sara Irene McBee, 86, of Uvalde died on Feb. 21, 2014, at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde. She was born on Dec. 13, 1927, in Marble Falls and Llano County to Eula Mae Moore and Jack Ezell Moss. She married William Glen McBee on Aug. 30, 1947, in Brackettville and they spent their wedding night in the Kincaid Hotel in Uvalde. In early years of her life the Moss family ranched on land on the West Prong of the Nueces River in Kinney County. She and her husband lived in Del Rio for many years and owned a business there. Later they moved to Fredericksburg and lived there for a number of years before settling in Uvalde. She is survived by one sister, Doris Herndon and husband, Elmer B., of Uvalde; three nieces, JoNell Herndon and husband, W.G. Carter, of Uvalde, Joan Veal and husband, Robert, of Orlando, Fla. and Diana Kay Artz and husband, Ed, of Arizona; two nephews, Dr. Elmer B. Herndon and wife, Sherry, of Uvalde and Craig Moss of Galveston; and many great-nephews, great-nieces, greatgreat-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Jack Moore Moss. Graveside services were held Tuesday at l0 a.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Brackettville. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Herndon, Wayne Herndon, Kyle Herndon, Colton Herndon and Craig Moss.
