Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. One Uvalde High School senior is literally willing to put his life on the line for his community. Donald “Mac” McLaughlin serves as a member of the Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department, racing to fire and accident calls before and after school. He’s been serving in this role since October. This is really unusual because he started with the fire department while he was playing football this season, and he hopes to play college football.
