Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Drugs are a growing problem among school aged children, but the problem is not just an after-school activity; younger students are now bringing prescription and illicit drugs on campus. Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District reported 21 incidents for which students have been found in possession of drugs on campus since 2012. This number includes part of the 2011-2012 school year and the 2012-2013 school year to present.
