New police chief settles in town

Although he has been on board for only one week, Uvalde Police Chief Eric Herrera has used that time to evaluate the department and set a variety of goals that he believes, once reached, will bring a positive change in the community. Herrera, who came to the department from Pecos, where he was employed as a sheriff’s deputy for Reeves County, has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement.
