Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Uvalde Junior High School and Uvalde High School’s new gym, auditorium and old gym, as well as the West Garden building, will each be renamed. They will be named after Genoveva Morales, the Rev. Harvey Kinchlow, John Harrell, Oscar H. Cruz and Praxedis Mata Torres, respectively. Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District has decided to honor these individuals who exemplify the core values of compassion, dedication, excellence, integrity, respect and responsibility by naming district buildings in their honor.
