Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. A Uvalde man with a warrant out for his arrest is on the loose after evading arrest twice in one night – once during a high-speed pursuit and again, hours later, on foot. Gerardo Alvarez, 30, first got away from police when his car passenger threw himself out of the moving vehicle. According to Lt. Mike Hernandez, Officer Gregory Villa pulled over to assist the passenger.
