With the exception of Poteet, which hosts an annual strawberry festival, Texas is known more for produce like cantaloupe, spinach and pecans than strawberries. However, researchers in Uvalde and around the state are trying to change that by carrying out a study to determine exactly which varieties of the fruit will grow most favorably here.
