Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Students and their parents join faculty and staff at Knippa Independent School District on Thursday afternoon for a balloon release memorializing late principal Merlyn Schneider. The ceremony was held at the same time as the Glen Rose funeral service for Schneider, who was killed one week ago today when a suspected drunk driver crashed into her car in San Antonio.
