Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Ronald Mathers, 68, of Uvalde died on March 29, 2014, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 5, 1945, in Binghamton, New York to Rita Marie Flynn Mathers and Gorden Mathers. He married Mary Putnam on Oct. 6, 1990, in Florida. He is survived by his wife of 23 years; one daughter, Rita Dunville of Uvalde; one brother, Robert Mathers of Pennsylvania; one sister, Margaret Mathers of Delaware; four grandchildren; and numerous greatgrandchildren.
