Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. They are here to serve and protect, but like all things it takes money to run a successful law enforcement agency. While both Uvalde County Sheriff Charles Mendeke and Uvalde Police Chief Eric Herrera said their departments are not underfunded, each outlined areas in their respective departments that could use some extra help.
