Raul Padilla, 62, was called home on April 7, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Seferino Sr.; and his brothers, Frank and Alfred Padilla. His is survived by his wife of 42 years, Otila Padilla; son, Phillip Padilla; daughter, Amanda Lira; son-in-law, Jose Lira; and granddaughters, Amaris, Allyson and Jazlyn Lira; his mother, Severa Padilla of Uvalde; and siblings, Seferino Jr., Arnold, Luis, Adam and Irene Padilla, Delia Betancud, Melinda Nimock, Oralia Mendiondo and Virginia Villansana; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and other family. Raul was a very active 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly No. 2040, St. Vincent De Paul. He worked as a fireman in Harlingen, Texas, a driller for Raba, and as a warehouseman at H-E-B. Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., yesterday at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Visitation will continue today at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church at 6 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church.
