Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Lee Summers will not be back as head softball coach at Uvalde High School next year. Following the Uvalde-Calallen playoff game Saturday at Charlotte, Summers informed his varsity players that he will tender his resignation as head softball coach. “I had hoped to tell the girls the news of my retirement down the road, well into the playoffs, but that did not work out for us,” said Summers.
