Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. Will Hurd came out on top with 59.46 percent of the vote in the runoff race with Francisco “Quico” Canseco to determine the Republican candidate for the District 23 U.S. representative post. Hurd, who received 8,558 votes to Canseco’s 5,883 tally, will face incumbent Democratic congressman Pete Gallego in next fall’s General Election.
