Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. Martha Delores “Dale” Matlock, 73, of Uvalde died May 31, 2014, at her residence. She was born on March 1, 1941, in Francitas to Rosa Lea (Reese) Bowen and Cecil Bowen. She married Dean Matlock in Eagle Lake in 1979. She is survived by her husband of 35 years; three daughters, Zhanell Burch and husband, Eddy, of Dayton, Sheila Irwin and husband, Randy, of Brazoria, and Teresa Sterling of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee; one son, Franklin “Woody” Matlock of Uvalde; five sisters, Laverne Green, Connie Kasper, Iris Jean Tenney, all of Texas, Wanda Lea Tindel of Florida, and Wyonna Bowen of Louisiana; four brothers, Kenneth Bowen, and triplets, Larry Bowen, James Bowen, and Virgil Bowen; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Jackson and Donna Kay Wilbeck; brother, Ronnie Bowen; and stepfather, Tommy Tumlinson. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Reagan Wells Baptist Church. Interment followed at Heard Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Garland officiating.
