Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. The newspaper first held the contest in 2013 and received dozens of entries, which appeared one at a time on the front page of each edition of the newspaper – for nearly one year.Simply e-mail, mail or bring your photos into us on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to be eligible for the contest. The least expensive option was chosen Monday, when trustees of the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District reviewed three salary adjustment possibilities. The chosen option – labeled Option one – has a fiscal impact of $730,000 and will give starting teachers in 2014-2015 a $1,000 salary increase from the $40,000 offered last year. Continuing full-time teachers will see a second-year increase of $1,275.
