Marilyn Ann Kral Harbert, 77, of Uvalde died on Aug. 2, 2014, at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She was born on April 27, 1937, in La Pryor to Callie Easter Kral and Fritz Kral. Harbert attended school in La Pryor and graduated as salutatorian of the Class of 1955. Shortly after the graduation, she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was employed there for 34 years. She worked in both Uvalde and San Antonio. According to the family, Harbert was an avid gardener, who created a showplace yard. She was also an extremely competent seamstress. One of her special loves was her dogs. They received excellent care from her. She was preceded in death by her parents; an aunt, Katherine Easter; and additional relatives. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jake Harbert; three sisters, Carolyn Talbot and husband, Jack, of San Antonio, Katherine Feuerbacher and husband, Charles, of Woodsboro and Karen Knight and husband, Bill, of Urbana, Illinois; five nieces; three nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service was held yesterday at 10 a.m. at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Interment followed in La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arlon Feuerbacher, Kirk Feuerbacher, David Feuerbacher, Robert Kuck, Mark Wedeman and Bill Wedeman. The family requests memorials be made to the Uvalde Humane Society, 127 N.
