Where do you read the newspaper? The Uvalde Leader-News is again accepting photo submissions from people reading the newspaper in far-flung or unique geographical locations. Posing as a member of a violent Mexican drug cartel, a man claimed he was holding a local physician’s daughter for ransom in what authorities are calling a virtual kidnapping scam. The incident occurred on July 28 at 10 a.m. Uvalde police were dispatched to the Uvalde Memorial Hospital, where a nurse said co-worker Dr. Isaac Sosa received a call from an unknown man who was claiming to have abducted Sosa’s adult daughter.
