Fundraiser for cancer-stricken teacher generates $9K

On Sunday, Jan. 21, Sabinal ISD faculty and staff raised an estimated $9,000 from a barbecue plate fundraiser for Sabinal Elementary second-grade teacher Connie Hohon. Funds are still being counted and collected. Hohon was diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, in the fall of 2023.
