Wild Hog Fest set next weekend

The 33rd-annual Sabinal Wild Hog Festival and Craft Fair is set March 30-31 at Veterans Memorial Live Oak Park in Sabinal. Olivarez wins state powerlifting championship



Uvalde High School junior Marilyn Olivarez captured first place at the state powerlifting meet on March 15 at Frisco’s Comerica Center. The Uvalde Athletic Booster Club’s 27-hole, two-man golf tournament is scheduled for April 13 at Uvalde Memorial Golf Course. All proceeds from the event will go to support UHS athletic scholarships.

Hundreds compete in second-annual run for Eva Mireles



More than 500 people signed up for the second-annual race memorializing the late Eva Mireles. The Eva Strong Memorial 5K/10K Walk/Run took place March 16 in Uvalde’s downtown.
