Arnulfo Prado, 63, of Batesville died on April 4, 2019, in San Antonio.

A visitation will be held today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home of Uvalde.

A mass of Christian burial will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Mission in Batesville. Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery.

He was born on Aug. 6, 1955, in Crystal City to Aurora (Vasquez) and Francisco Prado.

The family says he never met anyone he didn’t befriend, and he always wore a smile on his face. He spent any extra time he had with his mother, and he greatly enjoyed a membership in the Knights of Columbus.

Nicknamed “Tio Nufi” by his nieces and nephews, he loved to volunteer at schools in Batesville. Prado also enjoyed coaching softball.

Prado is survived by his sister, Lile Guedea; numerous nieces and nephews; and members of the Prado, Campos and Acosta families, all of Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Teodosa Campos, Minerva Acosta and Hortencia Prado; and two brothers, Ernesto Prado and Francisco Prado Jr.
