Bi-district winner to play Marble Falls or Wimberley

Friday night at the Uvalde High School soccer field, the Uvalde Coyotes were scheduled to host the San Antonio Kennedy Rockets in bi-district soccer competition.

The winner of the Uvalde-Kennedy match will face the winner of the bi-district match between the District 25-4A champion Marble Falls Mustangs and the District 26-4A fourth-place seed Wimberley Texans.

Marble Falls and Wimberley were slated to play in a Friday night match at Marble Falls.

Coach George Menchaca’s Coyotes, 9-11-2 for the season, went into action against Kennedy, 14-8-3, coming off of a 3-0 district win over the Hondo Owls last Monday night at UHS.

The Coyotes finished second in the District 28-4A standings behind the Floresville Tigers.

They finished ahead of the Pleasanton Eagles and the Hondo Owls.

Kennedy’s Rockets, the third-place team, entered post-season play against the Coyotes following a narrow 1-0 District 27-4A loss to the runner-up La Vernia Bears in their district finale last Monday night at San Antonio.
