Proprietor PJ Talavera invites second- through fifth-graders to The Black Belt Academy in Uvalde for five weeks of free karate classes beginning June 28.
“Hands up for Robb” will take place three days each week, Tuesday through Thursday, from 4-5 p.m.
Talavera said he has been involved with martial arts since 1987, offering training in the Uvalde area since the early 1990s.
He opened the Black Belt Academy nine years ago.
He said participants can expect high-quality training that is rooted in fundamentals.

While there is no fee for students taking part in this five-week training, tuition typically includes a $120 registration fee in addition to a $115 monthly for unlimited striking classes or $95 monthly for two classes per week.
