Community farmers market will be held in the downtown plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with an array of homegrown vegetables, baked goods, and artisan goods offered by area merchants.
Local author Holli Fry will celebrate the launch of her book “Amena Quest” with a book signing at El Progreso Memorial Library from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
WEDNESDAY, AUG.20
A feral hog workshop, hosted by the Kinney, Edwards, Medina, and Real AgriLife Extension offices, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Uvalde County Fairplex. CEU’s are available for pesticide applicators. Lunch will be served. FMI, 830-563-2442.

Uvalde resident Deyanira Salazar will host an “awesome universe” event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at El Progreso Memorial Library. The event, geared towards children 5-10 years old, will include videos and hands-on activities from NASA. FMI, text 830-279-7632.
