MONDAY, Aug. 8

Uvalde High School class of 2024 will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Town House Restaurant to discuss membership, magnet fundraiser and other fundraising ideas, and the class photo. Other topics may be discussed.

Aug. 8-9

Maricella and Friends, a Dallas-based bilingual act headed by a songwriter, ventriloquist, speaker and writer, will be at El Progreso Memorial Library at 10:30 a.m. to “give the gift of laughter,” according to an event flyer from library director Mendell Morgan.

Free vision screenings will take place at Our Health Center, 200 Evans St., from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis. FMI, 830-278-7105.

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 10

Uvalde Athletic Booster Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the John H. Harrell Auditorium at Uvalde High School to discuss concession stand volunteerism, membership, scholarship information, and an update on the athletic program. Other topics may be discussed.

AUG. 11-14

The Uvalde Grand Opera House will present “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” directed by Jan Elliott, nightly at 7 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinees shows on Saturday and Sunday. FMI, 830-278-4184.

The 21st-annual Wellness Fair hosted by Community Health Development Inc. offering dental screenings and a bicycle giveaway is set for 4 to 7 p.m. at the Willie De Leon Civic Center.
