City offers brush pickup services


The city of Uvalde offers a regular brush pickup schedule to assist residential city utility customers dispose of accumulated, leafy debris.

The city charges a small fee of about $1.50 on utility bills to help fund a regular brush removal route, which alternates sections of the city and picks up brush about every six weeks.

Leaves must be bagged or boxed to be picked up during the brush route. City crews will not pick up leaves that aren’t bagged.

The city Public Works Department staff recommends residents place their brush out about one week prior to the start date of their pickup.  The brush schedule does not apply to businesses, which typically receive trash pickup on Wednesdays.

The service runs on about a 12-day rotation.

Residents who have trash pickup on Fridays will be on the brush route on:  March 4-15, from April 29 to May 10, from June 24 to July 5, Aug. 19-30, Oct. 14-25, and Dec. 9-20.

Those who have residential trash pickup on Mondays will be on the brush route on:  March 18-29, May 13-24, July 8-19, Sept. 2-13, Oct. 28 to Nov. 8, and from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3, 2025.

Those who have residential trash pickup on Tuesdays will be on the brush route on: Feb. 5-16, April 1-12, from May 27 to June 7, from July 22 to Aug. 2, Sept. 16-27, and Nov. 11-22.

Those who have residential trash pickup on Thursday will be on the brush route from Feb. 19 to March 3, April 15-26, June 10-21, Aug. 5-16, from Sept. 30 to Oct. 11, and from Nov. 25 to Dec. 6.
