Elisaldo “Chaldo” G. Martinez, 87, of Uvalde died on July 30, 2021, at his residence.

Martinez was born in Crystal City, on Dec 5, 1933, to Pasquala (Gomez) and Adolfo Martinez.

He is survived by his son, Elisaldo T. Martinez and wife, Cynthia, of Mission; two daughters, Nancy M. Suarez and husband, Juan, and Norma M. Garcia and husband, Joe, all of Uvalde;  two half-brothers, Gilbert Ruiz of Chicago, Illinois, and Arturo Ruiz of of Grayslake, Illinois; half-sister, Gloria R. Valdez, of Oak View, California; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by wife, Maria T. Martinez; and brother, Antonio G. Martinez.

Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
