Esther Infante

Esther Infante, 83, of Kermit, formerly of Uvalde, died on Nov. 15, 2020, at her residence in Kermit.

Infante was born on Sept. 28, 1937, in Kemp to Heremerjilda (Velasquez) and Baldazar Infante. She is survived by seven daughters, Maria Flores and husband, Felix, of Uvalde, JoAnn Martinez and husband, Leroy, of Lubbock, Elizabeth Brijalba and husband, Gilbert, of Kermit, Maria Elena Perez of Dallas, Anna West and husband, Bruce, and Frances Velasquez and husband, George, all of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Maria Peña and husband, Joe, of Roswell, New Mexico; four sons, Homar Galvan and wife, Lala, and Jeffery Galvan, all of Lubbock, and Joe Galvan and wife, Yolanda, and David Galvan, all of Lovington, New Mexico; one brother, Joshua Infante of San Francisco, California; 34 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents; five brothers, David Infante, Ruben Infante, Marcos Infante, Israel Infante and Pedro Infante; and sister, Raquel Peña.

According to the family, Infante was a strong, beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. The family also said she was and will always be loved and cherished dearly by all those whose lives she touched.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Billy Flores, Gabriel Flores, David Galvan, Ashleigh Martinez, David Galvan and Jeffery Galvan.
