Felix Mireles

Felix Mireles, 80, of Uvalde died on Oct. 10, 2021, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Oct. 20-21 from noon to 9 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited both days at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

He was born in Campbellton on Feb. 1, 1941, to Maria (Rendon) and Jesus V. Mireles.

His family remembers how he enjoyed working outdoors as a rancher before joining the city of Uvalde water department.

Mireles worked for over 20 years with the water department, going through ranks until reaching the foreman position.

The family said that after he retired from the city of Uvalde, he cherished every moment he spent with them.

He is survived by his wife, Apolinaria G. Mireles of Uvalde; three sons, Felix G. Mireles and wife, Samantha, Guadalupe “Lupe” Mireles, and Felipe Mireles, all of Uvalde; daughter, Pauline Mireles and companion, Rosendo Saiz, of Uvalde; three brothers, Jose Mireles, Manuel Mireles, and Francisco Mireles, all of Uvalde; five sisters, Margret Mireles Vasquez, Elena Mireles, Maria Mireles Molina, all of Kerrville, Margarita Mireles Guerrero of Oglesby, Yolanda Mireles Bonne, of Uvalde; 13 grandchildern; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Benito Mireles, Juan Mireles, Jesus Mireles Jr.; and sister Francisca Mireles.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Saiz of San Antonio, and Michael Saiz, Timothy Saiz, Stephen Saiz, Felix Robert Mireles, and Janice Mireles, all of Uvalde.
