Football practice begins Aug. 1


The Uvalde Coyotes will kick off their 2022 football season with the first day of pre-season practice on Aug. 1.

Coach Wade Miller’s Coyotes will practice in helmets, shirts, and shorts for the first two days of practice.

They will don shoulder pads on Aug. 3 and then go to full pads on Aug. 8.

The Coyotes will see their first action of the season when they host the Jourdanton Indians in a controlled football scrimmage on Aug. 12 in the Honey Bowl.

Junior varsity and freshman action in the scrimmage will run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., while the varsity scrimmage will run from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Coyotes will be on the road to scrimmage the Hondo Owls on Aug. 18.

Regular-season action for the Coyotes will get underway on Aug. 26 when they travel to Carrizo Springs to play the Carrizo Springs Wildcats.

Kick-off time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
