George  T. Cooper Jr.

George Truett Cooper Jr., 71, of Plano, formerly of Uvalde, died Dec. 6 in Plano.

He was born on Feb. 21, 1950, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Georgie and George Cooper. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas in 1968.

Born into a military family, Cooper attended junior high in Izmir, Turkey.

Cooper and his former wife, Ginger Schneider, built and operated the Spanish Dagger hunting business east of Uvalde for many years. Cooper is survived by a son, Nick Cooper, and wife, Libby; two grandsons, Wells and Jones Cooper, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister, Linda Davis; niece, Dylanna Davis; and nephew, Sean Davis, all of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cooper was cremated, and the family hopes to hold a funeral service next spring at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Uvalde.
