Local officers representing the Texas Department of Public Safety, United States Border Patrol, Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office, Uvalde Police Department, Uvalde County Constable for Pct. 6, and Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District greet visiting law enforcement officers from the Florida Highway Patrol and Iowa State Patrol who are participating in Operation Lone Star. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and DPS launched the initiative in March in response to drug and human smuggling incidents.
